About
Amir Joffe is a PhD student in the Applied Marine Exploration Lab and the Basin Research Group, Imperial College London, UK.
He graduated his B.Sc. in Geology from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 2018 and joined the research group in 2020 after completing an M.Sc. in Petroleum Geosciences at Imperial College London, UK.
Besides his interest in layer-bound faults, Amir is also interested in salt-tectonics (previous work including projects in the Levant, the Gulf of Mexico, and the North Sea).
Layer-Bound Faults offshore Israel
Amir’s PhD investigates a sub-Messinian, Oligo-Miocene fault array spanning the entirety of the deep Levant basin, and affects all the newly discovered gas fields offshore Israel.
